Common questions

Answers to what people usually ask before booking.

Do I need to book ahead?

It isn't strictly required, but reserving in advance locks in your price and means you're not deciding on the day. Either way, pre-purchased tickets don't grant priority in the entry queue.

Can I pay by cash at the museum?

No — the museum accepts card payment only, both online and on-site.

Is the museum accessible?

Yes. Lifts reach every floor, accessible toilets are available on the ground floor and in the restaurant, and strollers are welcome throughout.

What languages are the included tours in?

English and Swedish run daily on a set schedule. Other languages can sometimes be arranged on request — ask us ahead of your visit.

What if I miss my tour time?

Open guided tours run frequently throughout the day, so you can simply join the next scheduled English or Swedish departure instead.

Is the ship warm enough to visit comfortably?

The exhibition hall is kept at 18–20°C to protect the timber, which can feel cool compared to a Stockholm summer day — bring a light layer.
